Buffalo River State Park

Here we are on September 29th, this trip just with our mum - visiting Buffalo River State Park. When we were there, we spent time by the river, hiked through the woods and across the prairie paths, and while we ate our sandwiches (we told you!) we saw six deer cross the parking lot by our van. It was a beautiful fall day!

Hiking the prairie paths.
While on the prairie paths we saw lots of little creatures and birds, and even came across the fresh skull of a gopher. Mum didn't let us touch it or bring it home (she's so boring sometimes!)

We have spent some time at this park before as well - both in the summer, and the winter. Oldest brother and dad have even camped out here in April (and freezing temperatures) before. We will definitely be back.

Thanks for joining us!

Itasca State Park

Hello there world! Welcome to our little corner of the internet.

We are three brothers (and our parents) who live in the beautiful state of Minnesota (that's in the United States). We happen to be homeschooled; our days are centered around nature based learning... and as such, we like to spend a lot of time outside, going on "ADVENTURES!" (We like to eat a lot of sandwiches too.)

This summer our mum learned about the Minnesota State Parks Passport Club and we knew that we had just found our next adventure - to try to visit all of the Minnesota State Parks (there are 75 of them) and to document our adventures with a single photo of us at each park. You can follow us over on Instagram.

As a Minnesotan family we have already visited quite a few of the State Parks, but decided we would start from the very beginning, and revisit any that we have already visited.

We officially began our great journey on September 22nd, with a visit to one of our favorite parks - Itasca State Park. It is home of the Mississippi headwaters, and a pretty exciting fire tower!

Hiking up to the fire tower.

While there we ate sandwiches (remember, we said we love them), hiked to the fire tower, and waded across the headwaters. On other visits we have also taken the wilderness drive, camped in both tents and their cabins, and spent some time on the bike trails. Always a fun time at Itasca - we encourage you to see for yourselves!

Thanks for joining us on our adventures! Maybe we will see you on the trails.
